Below are the results of analyses of the Mesolithic sample I0061 from Karelia, in northwestern Russia. The sample is dated to 5500–5000 BC.

I0061 belonged to Y haplogroup R1a1-M459* and mitochondrial haplogroup C1g.

    What about pigmentation, did the Hunter Gatherers or the Yamnaya carry SLC245A or any other depigmentation genes?

    The data I have now are the genotypes for the 354,212 SNPs included in the Human Origins dataset. The only important phenotype SNPs among those SNPs are rs1042602 in TYR, which is associated with light skin and an absence of freckles, and rs1393350, also in TYR, and associated with blond hair and blue eyes. The five samples I’ve analyzed so far all have two copies of the ancestral alleles of those SNPs, in the cases where the genotype was available.

    As far as I can tell the sequences haven’t yet been uploaded. The sequence data are supposed to include 394,577 SNPs, which may include more phenotype SNPs. I’ll post whatever I find when the sequences are uploaded.
