Analyses of a Unetice genome

Below are the results of analyses of the sample I0114 from the Unetice culture in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The sample is dated to 2131–1979 BC.

I0114 belonged to Y haplogroup I2a2 and mitochondrial haplogroup I3a.

I0114 had a significant amount of the K12b Gedrosia component. We know from my analyses of early Y hg I people like Loschbour, the Motala hunter-gatherers, KO1, and Ajvide 58 that such people did not originally carry any of the Gedrosia component. The Y hg I people of the Unetice culture in Germany must have absorbed this component from the Y hg R1 people who also inhabited Germany.
